The heartfelt truth

This year marks the first year that I won't be spending Thanksgiving with my children as they will be with my ex-wife. My mother decided not to do a Thanksgiving meal this year either, so it's just gonna be me and the girlfriend probably ordering a pizza while I watch football on the couch and she updates her Facebook status.

I used to hate Thanksgiving because I just wanted all the visiting family to LEAVE because there's only so much chit-chat I can take.

Now that there are isn't visiting family, I miss it. A LOT.

Give thanks for what you have while you still have it and for the people around you.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I'll be back on Monday.

In the meantime, I made some more LOLJax posters of my dog ...but these have a Thanksgiving twist! They are below. I know..I shouldn't be that excited.

You can also can click on this and read this post I did a while ago about a giant man-eating turkey.

Seems appropriate.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Moog out.

  1. Have a good Thanksgiving, Rodney! I can give you a hearty "amen" to your sentiment of appreciating what you have. Having lost everything except my family in one night, I can totally appreciate your feelings. Splurge and get extra toppings on your pizza!

  6. Having walked that path myself, Rod, let me assure you it gets better. It's a new reality, but we adjust.

    Hang in there.

  7. We had 5 people this year. Normally, it's 5x that many. I think this was my favorite year. I hate chit-chat too.
