My daughter is a little obsessed.
And by 'a little' I mean 'crazy-go-nuts.'
Ever since I introduced my 12-year old girl to "The Lord of the Rings" series, she's been..well..
..a little creepy about her celebrity crush:
Elijah Wood.
Like, just short of Gollum, creepy.
I Tweeted this to Elijah a while ago, asking if he could just Tweet a 'hi' back but never heard from him:
It probably doesn't help that she realized that I - as a young stud muffin myself - was pretty much Frodo's stunt double even before Elijah was born.
My curse to bear. Much like that damn ring.
Regardless, she told me that Elijah's birthday was January 28th and then wrote this letter to him which I am desperately trying to figure out how to get to him because I'm her dad and shit like this is what dad's do. Even if it's creepy.
"Elijah Wood,
Hello Elijah, my name is Payton. I am a 12 year old girl living with a divorced family life and a great life as well.
I wanted to write you this note to wish you a happy birthday. I'm a huge fan of you that I wanted to basically do something nice for your birthday.
You are my favorite celebrity in the world. I especially love your character, Frodo, in Lord of the Rings. He is so brave and courageous. That movie made a big impact on my life. The movie trilogy taught me that even the smallest person can change the course of the future.
That's all I have to say. I just wanted to wish you a very happy birthday. If you have the chance, can you please write a little note saying hello. Thank you. Bye.
From,
Payton Lacroix"
And she drew him this as well to help him celebrate:
My kids are amazing.
I hope you see this, Elijah.
But, if you don't, know that there's a little girl in New Hampshire who absolutely adores you and wishes you a happy birthday.
From,
Her dad.

There is one thing about a 12 year old stalker. She has to have someone drive her to the stalking spot. I bet it's her mom.
That is really sweet and you are a great dad!
I tweeted him also with a link to this page. Maybe he'll notice. I see that he is getting hundreds of messages today.
